Information about Barnes Bridge
Barnes Bridge railway station is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, in south west London, and is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station, and all trains serving it, is operated by South West Trains, and is on the Hounslow Loop Line. It was opened on 12 March 1916: the station is on an embankment near the Surrey bank of the River Thames, which is crossed by the rail bridge giving the station its name. There is an ornate entrance to the station buildings facing the river, and stairs take passengers to the two platforms, each of which has a modest shelter.
The station is actually centrally located in Barnes. The typical off-peak service from the station is six trains per hour to London Waterloo four direct via Putney and Clapham Junction, and two via Brentford and Richmond and two trains per hour to Weybridge. Passenger numbers are swelled on Boat Race days.
